A woman who was so overweight she was forced to buy tickets for THREE plane seats at a time has lost almost half her body weight. She is Rachel Ayers, who weighed over 295 lbs , said holidays were a “nightmare” because she was so big and once hired a whole row of seats on a flight so she didn’t have to sit next to anyone. The company accountant said what she was most afraid of was “spilling over” to the next seat so once on a trip to Florida she booked three seats for the journey.
Size 26 Rachel has now lost 146 lbs though and is a slender size 12.
But it was what happened to her father, who was also overweight and suffered from diabetes, that gave Rachel the push she needed to do something about her dangerous obesity.
Her dad had an eye operation and lost 20 per cent of his eyesight,
Rachel, from California, said: "It was like a shock. He was 69, and I thought 'what am I going to be like in 20 years' time?'" So in September last year she signed up Keto Diet which taught her about portion control. Rachel said: "I was not the person I wanted to be. I had the outside of low self-esteem and food was the plaster. I had to keep eating the food to cope. Unless your mind is right you will never be right. That's the problem I had to sort. Food was like drugs or alcohol.When I started the Keto plan, I started losing a lot of weight very quickly.. I just quit everything that was bad for me and followed the plan properly."
Now, weighing in at 149 lbs, Rachel claims her whole attitude to food has changed.
